My Paris: Photo Diary Vol. 1

My first two months in France have been full of adventures — from lazy afternoons in our little studio and wandering through the Parisian arrondissements, to our road trips through Normandy and the western French regions. Here’s a collection of snaps to give a peek at what daily life has been like in my new country.

My favorite: Fresh raspberry cake from my boyfriend, for my 25th birthday ❤

Les Serres d’Auteuil, one of my favorite quiet spots in Paris.
It’s a big collection of beautiful botanical gardens and greenhouses.

Having fun visiting A&F (my first job in college) on Avenue des Champs-Élysées.

My other favorite “secret” spot in Paris.
A small, quiet stairwell in front of the bookstore in Galerie Vivienne. Perfect for journaling.

One of my birthday presents was a night in a treehouse, it was such a cool experience!

We pulled our breakfast basket up from the base of the tree by rope.
Felt like being an adventurous kid again…although I’m not sure I’ve ever left that phase?

View from the base of our tree house, “Guadalupe”.

Home, sweet tree house!

We ducked into this quirky café in Saint Malo, when the rain really started to pour.

A quiet corner in the abbey atop Mont Saint-Michel.

A green courtyard atop a castle island…
Mont Saint-Michel reminds me of what I used to imagine castles looked like as a kid.

Fireworks

My favorite memory so far: Fireworks right above our heads on Houlgate beach.🎉

I loved Nantes, despite the cloudy weather while we were visiting.
Les Machines de l’Île was so cool.

An ancient little town that reminded me of coastal Italy (though I’ve never been to Italy).

La Château de Clisson.
My boyfriend pointed to a random wall and said, “This wall is older than the U.S.A.”

A stunning view from the rooftop of the Peninsula Hotel.
My friend and I snuck up to the top to peek at the Eiffel Tower before the sun set.

  1. I have only been to Paris once, and it was the clique destination where I proposed to my now fiancee so it will always have a special place in my heart. You can see all the sights in Paris, but nothing beats sitting outside of a cafe late at night with a snack and a bottle of wine. Great post 🙂

    • How romantic!! ❤ And I completely agree, my favorite spots in Paris are quiet, where I can enjoy my surroundings and relax deep in thought 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the post!
